Generative Artificial Intelligence Policy
Qubahan Journal of Medical Sciences recognizes the increasing use of artificial-intelligence-assisted technologies in research and scholarly communication.
Such technologies must not compromise scientific accuracy, originality, confidentiality, accountability, copyright, research ethics, or transparency.
AI cannot be an author
Artificial-intelligence systems, large language models, chatbots, and similar technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
Human authors remain fully accountable for all submitted and published content.
Disclosure
Authors must transparently disclose substantive use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies.
The disclosure should identify:
• The tool used
• The purpose of its use
• The part of the manuscript or research affected
Use of AI for research methodology, analysis, image generation, data processing, or figure preparation must be transparently described in the appropriate section of the manuscript.
Author responsibility
Authors must verify all AI-assisted output and remain responsible for:
• Accuracy
• Originality
• Citations
• Copyright compliance
• Data integrity
• Confidentiality
• Bias
• Scientific interpretation
AI-generated references must be independently verified against authentic original sources.
Peer review

Reviewers remain personally responsible for the content of their reports.
Editorial use
Final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection must be made by qualified human editors.
Artificial intelligence must not independently determine final editorial decisions or findings of research misconduct.
Inappropriate use
Undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI that compromises originality, confidentiality, research integrity, or scientific reliability may result in editorial investigation and corrective action.
